Tampa Bay Lightning acquire B.J. Crombeen from St. Louis Blues

Well, some fans have been clamouring for toughness the past few years. Now you have it.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired right wing B.J. Crombeen from the St. Louis Blues and a 5th round draft choice in 2013 in exchange for 4th round draft picks in 2013 and 2014.

Crombeen, 27, has played for both the Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues in his NHL career. And he ain’t afraid to drop the gloves.

Perhaps this move can be seen as adding veteran depth to the bottom-6. In fact, it Crombeen gives more time for development to the likes of Pierre-Cedric Labrie, as well as adds depth and competition for jobs. The question to me over this is who else is effected / put on the hot seat through this transaction? How are the bottom-6 looking to you right now? Share it in comments.

One thing’s for certain – he’s got to pick out a new jersey number, because #26 is taken in Tampa.
