Tampa Bay Lightning alternate jersey being retained for 2013-2014 season

When the Tampa Bay Lightning debuted their alternate jersey system n the 2008-2009 season, it was unclear just how long they would be around.

Lightning Executive Vice President of Communications Bill Wickett announced this week in an email that the team will retain the third jersey for the upcoming 2013-2014 season. Wickett also confirmed that the team had no plans on modifying the uniform in any capacity.

The uniforms, with “BOLTS” stenciled across the front and featuring white piping along with a variation of the team’s original long-time color scheme, was in it’s fifth season in 2013 and is worn primarily during weekend home games. Tampa Bay wore the jersey multiple times during the abbreviated 2013 season. The team has not yet confirmed how many games the jersey will be featured in this upcoming season..
