Lightning recall Vladdy Namestnikov, send goalie Anders Lindback to Syracuse for conditioning

The NHL is coming back to life as you know, and the Lightning are no exception; their next game is tomorrow in Nashville against the Predators, opening up a four game road trip. A pair of roster moves were made today that have ties to pre-Olympic injuries sustained by roster regulars with the Bolts.

Anders Lindback, who has been on the mend since suffering an ambiguous lower body injury at the end of January, has been sent on a conditioning stint to the Syracuse Crunch. That may make some over-eager fans happy, knowing Kristers Gudlevskis is backing up Ben Bishop for possibly the next two weeks. But he’s still a work in progress and a raw talent. Lindback might be able to use the Syracuse stint as a confidence boost, but that depends on the effort of the guys in front of him.

Meanwhile, Vladislav Namestnikov has been recalled from Syracuse. The former 1st round draft pick made his NHL debut before the Olympic break, serving on the Lightning roster after Valtteri Filppula went down with an ankle injury.
