The Lightning selected Hagen Burrows from the Sioux City Musketeers at 128th overall in the 2024 draft. Burrows played high school hockey this past season with Minnetonka High School in Minnesota, where he had 59 points, 19 goals and 40 assists, in just 28 games played. He received the Mr. Hockey award for the most outstanding senior in Minnesota high school hockey. The right-handed forward is 6’3″, 176 pounds, noted for hockey sense with top 6 potential (via Elite Prospects Draft Guide).
Burrows also played with the Musketeers in the USHL in the 2023-2024 season, finishing with 9 goals and 13 assists in 25 games, just shy of a point per game. With not a ton of pace, Burrows is more highly regarded for his skill and playmaking (via Elite Prospects Draft Guide). His vision and hockey sense helped him excel in 2023-2024, and the Hockey Prospects Black Book notes that he’s able to generate good scoring chances in the slot by using his quick hands to get shots on target despite tight spaces.

It’s expected that Burrows will play another season with the Musketeers before moving on to the University of Denver, where he is committed to play college hockey with the 2022 and 2024 National Champions.
