It may still be May, and also may still be the postseason, but it’s never too early to start looking ahead to next year.
The Adirondack Thunder may be in the midst of the third round of this year’s Kelly Cup Playoffs, but on Tuesday they—and the rest of the ECHL—released their full schedules for the 2018-2019 season.

The Thunder will begin the season with a 3 game road trip to the two newest cities to join the ECHL. They visit the Maine Mariners in Portland on October 13th, then head north to St. John’s for a pair of games on October 16th and 17th. Adirondack will return to Glens Falls for their home opener against the Brampton Beast on Saturday, October 20th.
Here are some other dates to circle on the calendar:
Wednesday, October 24th: The Thunder host Worcester in a first round playoff rematch.
Wednesday, November 14th: Adirondack will visit Manchester for the first time since eliminating the Monarchs in the North Division Finals. It’s also a 10 AM puck drop for a school day special.
Monday, December 31st: The traditional New Year’s Eve home game sees Adirondack hosting St. John’s for a 5 PM start.
Saturday, February 2nd-Sunday, February 17th: The longest road trip of the season—7 games—starts in Maine, then heads south to Florida for a three game set against the Everblades in a Eastern Conference Final rematch. The Thunder then head to the Midwest for a 3 in 3 weekend against Fort Wayne, Kalamazoo, and Cincinnati.
Wednesday, March 6th-Sunday, March 17th: The longest homestand of the season. Over a six game stretch, Adirondack will host Worcester twice, Manchester, St. John’s twice, then Reading on St. Patrick’s Day.
Sunday, April 7th: The Thunder close out the schedule with a home matchup against Worcester.
Further breaking down the 72 game schedule:
-Adirondack will take on 12 different opponents, with a very heavy divisional schedule. All but nine games will be played against the North Division. The opponent breakdown: Brampton (10), Cincinnati (1), Florida (3), Fort Wayne (1), Kalamazoo (1), Manchester (12), Maine (10), Norfolk (1), Reading (12), St. John’s (8), Wheeling (2), and Worcester (11).
-By days, the Thunder will play 10 Sunday games, 1 Monday game, 3 Tuesday games, 11 Wednesday games, 1 Thursday game, 22 Friday games, and 24 Saturday games. On 7 occasions, they will have 3 in 3 weekends.
