Tampa Bay Lightning ink RFA defenseman Brian Lee

For the second consecutive day, the Tampa Bay Lightning has trimmed down their list of restricted free agents. On Thursday, they took Brian Lee of their to-do list as they signed the defenseman to a two-year deal worth $2.3 million according to CapGeek.

Lee, 25, was acquired by the Lightning at the 2012 NHL trade deadline in a deal with the Ottawa Senators that sent Matt Gilroy to the Sens. Lee had 8 points in his 20 games with the Lightning after the trade, and was -6.

Lee’s signing brings the Bolts list of restricted free agents down to three. Yesterday, Brendan Mikkelson was inked by the club to a one-year deal. Fellow defensemen Keith Aulie and Evan Oberg, as well as goaltender Jaroslav Janus are the three remaining unsigned RFA’s for the club.

Actually, there are four. While we’ve mentioned the five players given qualifying offers from the club when we mention who has been signed, we failed to mention that goaltender Anders Lindback is an unsigned restricted free agent. The Nashville Predators, before trading Lindback to the Lightning, made the netminder a qualifying offer, which negated the Bolts need to do so. He still needs to be signed, though…

The 2012 Lined-Up Update has been changed to reflect the signing.
