It's Hedman's 14th goal of the NHL season and it's back-to-back wins for the Lightning, on the road, to start the week. Tampa Bay still trails the New York Islanders for the #8 playoff seed in the Eastern Conference.

Point had scored twice last night at MSG, helping the Bolts beat the Rangers, 3-2.

The score was 1-0 Pittsburgh in the 2nd period around the time this happened -- Jonathan Drouin put the Lightning on the scoreboard near the midway mark of the 2nd period. It's Drouin's 5th goal of the 2016 NHL Playoffs with assists going to Valtteri Filppula (6) and Victor Hedman (10).
Tyler Johnson is good at the hockey... With some aid form Jason Garrison and Nikita Kucherov who assisted. It was Johnson's 7th goal of the playoffs, Kucherov's 3rd point of the game (and 8th assist of the playoffs) and gave the Lightning a 4-3 win. Jason Garrison, who had the tipped-in shot, got his 6th assist of the playoffs. Now the series heads back to Amalie Arena with the Bolts leading 3-2.
The goal, Alex Killorn's 5th of the layoffs, made the score 2-1 Pittsburgh. Andrej Sustr had the assist.

An onslaught from the Pittsburgh Penguins is staved off by the Russian netminder, while the Lightning lack much of an offensive attack of their own. The Pens ultimately won it in overtime.
Just over a minute and a half into overtime play at Barclays Center tonight, the Tampa Bay Lightning won the game by way of the defensive hands of Jason Garrison, Andrej Sustr and Ondrej Palat! It was was the first goal of the playoffs for Garrison, the 1st assisst of the playoffs for Sustr and only the 2nd for Palat. The Lightning will return to Amalie Arena for game 5 of the series, now holding a 3-1 series lead.
Call it a late-8 goal. Nikita Kucherov's 3rd period tally to tie the score at 1 was his 8th goal of the playoffs. Tyler Johnson drew the assist on the tall, which was his 8th assist of the playoffs. The goal also came at... 7:49 of the 3rd period; just short of the 8 minute mark.

With assists to Victor Hedman and Ryan Callahan, Brian Boyle scored his 2nd goal of the playoffs and gave the Tampa Bay Lightning the win to put the club up 2-1 in the best of 7 series with the Islanders. The game-winning goal got posted less than 3 minutes into overtime and amounted to Tampa Bay's 41st shot on goal.
With Ben Bishop on the bench for the extra attacker, the Lightning capitalized on the opportunity to send the game into overtime. Jonathan Drouin found Nikita Kucherov in front of the net, and Kucherov scored his seventh goal of the playoffs.
After the Islanders took the lead on a goal from Josh Bailey, Vladislav Namestnikov answered right back for the Lightning to tie the game 3-3 early in the third period.
Jonathan Drouin was out of the game for a good portion of the second and third periods after a hit from Thomas Hickey in the middle of the second. Drouin went to the bench, before quickly heading off to the dressing room, and Hickey was not penalized on the play. Drouin returned to the game in the third.
With all of 13 seconds left in the 1st period -- the lamp gets lit with assists going to Alex Killorn and Valtteri Filppula. It was Callahan's 1st goal of the 2016 playoffs.
The Bolt took a 3-1 lead over the New York Islanders by way of Victor Hedman scoring on the power play to make it 3-1 Tampa Bay with 8 minutes left in the 2nd period. Assists went to the guys who already have goals today -- Tyler Johnson (6) and Jonathan Drouin (6).
Valtteri Filppula assisted and the Lightning went ahead 2-0 with thanks to the shot by Jonathan Drouin at 11:55 of the first period.
It was Tyler Johnson's 3rd goal of the playoffs on a backhanded shot to initiate scoring in game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Assists went to Ondrej Palat (1) and Victor Hedman (3) and Tampa Bay took a 1-0 lead over the Islanders.
Ondrej Palat, Jonathan Drouin and Vladislav Namestnikov worked to get the Bolts on the board first in this contest versus the New York Islanders.
