Yesterday, the Tampa Bay Lightning announced that they would be offering discounted tickets for their first three home games of the 2024-25 season. They will also be offering hundreds of donated tickets for first-responders and recovery personnel. Per their press release:
“As part of #TampaBayStrong, lower and club level tickets will be available starting at the all-in price of $75 with upper level starting at $25. In addition, the organization will donate hundreds of tickets to local first responders and recovery personnel, and their families, working to restore a sense of normalcy across the community.”
The offer covers the following games:
Tuesday October 15 vs. Vancouver
Thursday October 17 vs. Vegas
Thursday October 24 vs. Minnesota
Amalie Arena made it through Hurricanes Helene and Milton relatively untouched, especially compared to Tropicana Field. The Lightning were able to practice at the arena on Monday, and things are on track to have their home opener on Tuesday. A date for last Saturday’s postponed game against Carolina has yet to be decided.
While several of the players are still without power at their homes, they are making do by staying at hotels or with teammates. Despite the circumstances they remain focused on the task at hand, playing hockey. And they know, in their little part, they are helping people forget about the storm for just a little while.
As Anthony Cirelli told reporters following their season-opening win in Carolina,
“A lot of people are going through stuff. So for us to go out there and put on a good show for them will make a lot of people happy and forget about some of those other things.”
The tickets are available their website, the Lightning app, and Ticketmaster.
