As the playoffs head into the conference finals, and the end of the 2024-25 season is looming in the not too distant future, we figured it was time for a little website update. That update is…well, not much is going to change. We have no intention of going anywhere anytime soon, so don’t go deleting that bookmark just yet.
We took a few weeks off (for the most part) following the disappointing first-round exit to clear the head and recoup from a long season. Just as we were planning on getting back to a daily posting schedule, the day job went haywire and sucked up all of our time. The good news is that things have settled down (for the most part) and we should be back to regular posting.
At some point in the next day we’ll have a conference finals preview posted and we’ll have daily posts up for the games if anyone is looking for a spot to watch and comment. After that we’ll roll into the Stanley Cup Finals. Then it’s right into the draft and free agency. The Bolts have the 58th pick in the draft (for now) so we will see if we can dig up some potential players they might look to add to the system, and then speculate on some potential free agents that could fill the holes they have on the roster right now.
Along the way, there will be some Lightning specific posts. We probably won’t do a player-by-player review of the season, but will highlight some things that happened over the last eight months that will serve as a review.
The Top 25 Under 25 will be back in August, and you can expect to see the link for ranking the prospects sometime in late July once the dust settles from the draft and free agency. By our count there will be at least seven open spots due to players aging out or getting traded, and that doesn’t count Isaac Howard, who might be on his way to another franchise by then.
Before we know it, it’ll be training camp time and we’ll be hip-deep in hockey action again. We’re hoping to be able to post a position for at least one more writer to join the team, so keep an eye out for that if you know of anyone interested in writing about this team.
As always, thank you for stopping by and spending a little portion of your day with us.
