Two milestones for Victor Hedman: 500th game and 250th point

All Victor Hedman had to do to reach a career milestone was play the game against the Calgary Flames. It was his 500th career game. He has played all 500 regular season NHL games with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He becomes the sixth player to play 500 games for the Lightning and just the second defenseman after Pavel Kubina.

Early in the first period against the Flames, Hedman found the score sheet being credited with assists on two goals by Brian Boyle. With those two assists, Hedman hit the 250 point mark putting him at a perfect half point per game in his NHL career. His next milestone that he’s likely to hit this season is 200 assists. After his two first period assists, he sits at 196 in his career. With Hedman slated to play in Tampa Bay for the next eight seasons after signing a long term deal this summer, he is likely to have many more milestones in a Lightning sweater.
