Video: Ben Bishop post-game vs. Ottawa

Tampa Bay goaltender Ben Bishop talked to the media after posting a win over the team he played for less than a week ago – the Ottawa Senators. According to Bishop, winning for the Lightning is more important than what he does against his old team.

“I just wanted to get the two points for the team,” he said in the locker room after the game. “It’s not me against them at all.”

His focus is simple: make the playoffs for the Lightning. The goalie had said, prior to the morning skate Tuesday, that he was nervous to face his old team but that those nerves would settle once he was on the ice.

They seemed too, although some fluky goals same their way past Bishop.

“It’s one of those things that you cannot let bother you,” he said.

Bishop has started in four straight games for the Lightning since being acquired on the trade deadline. He is 2-2-0 along with a shutout. He has a .944 save percentage and a 2.02 goals against average.
