Pre-season schedule for the Crunch set

When the Crunch begins their pre-season at the end of September, the guys who have been down the AHL road before with the team will be in familiar territory.

Very familiar territory.

The Crunch will again face off against the St. John’s IceCaps in Newfoundland in pre-season AHL action. The dates are as follows:

Thursday, September 26 at 5:30 p.m. – Mile One Centre
Saturday, September 28 at 3:30 p.m. – Clarenville Events Centre
Sunday, September 29 at 2:30 p.m. – Mile One Centre
(All times listed are Eastern)

This competition has become a normal thing between the Baby Bolts and the IceCaps. So normal, in fact, that the pre-season competition has been given the name of the Mary Brown Cup. The Crunch traveled to Newfoundland last year in a similar set of three games, sweeping all of them to start and end the pre-season perfect. The year before that, the Norfolk Admirals also traveled to Newfoundland for three games and part of their training camp.

The Syracuse Post Standard caught up toassistant general manager Julien BriseBois, who had this to say about starting the year “On the Rock”:

I think it translates to building stronger bonds and better chemistry on the team. You get to do that earlier. It allows us to reap more rewards.
