Bolts in the pipeline, November 14-20

Hello Lightning fans! A little introduction to who I am and why I’m here. I’m an editor over at the SBN Maple Leafs site Pension Plan Puppets, and I do a bit of everything over there, but my favourite thing is a weekly summary of the CHL and NCAA based prospects. I offered to do the same here at Raw Charge.

What you’ll see are players sorted by league and then a quick note on each game; the score, goals, assists, and the players +/- (not a perfect stat I know). If a player has had a great game I’ll add a video recap of the game if I can find one.

Also at the very bottom is a chart listing skaters PPG and NHLe. NHLe isn’t much other than a fun guess at what a players production in his current league would equal over an 82 game NHL season. The math comes from Rob Vollman, and it’s not perfect, but I find it interesting.  Like what you see about prospects? For greater in-depth coverage of prospects, check out the Bolt Prospects website.

It was an okay week for Bolts prospects. A couple players had good weeks: Christopher Paquette had four points and Mitchell Stephens & Taylor Raddysh had six each. Otto Somppi made his return to the ice after missing last week, and netted four assists in a 21 goal game between Halifax and Acadie-Bathurst. Aside from those big weeks for those four players, it was one point weeks or time off due to injuries.

I wouldn’t turn on anyone based on one bad week, unless there were playing for the London Knights, but that’s a personal thing.

Alright, off we go, let’s get to the rundown.

Lots of prospects still holding near or above a PPG, which is where you want to see players post-draft. Taylor Raddysh could see a big jump in numbers, now that the Arizona Coyotes have decided to send Dylan Strome back to the OHL’s Erie Otters. Strome put up 111 points in 56 games with Erie last year, and if Raddysh can benefit from playing with Strome, even just on the special teams, then it’s something the Bolts prospect would love to get.

That’s it for me for this week. Stay tuned for next week when Pension Plan Puppets files a cease and desist over plagiarism claims, since I ripped myself off for this article. [Oh, El Seldo. – Acha]
