Lightning acquire LW Jean-Francois Jacques from Florida Panthers
Jacques is likely set to play in Syracuse and add depth to the organization.
Jean-Francois Jacques has bounced around the AHL during his career. With his acquisition by the Tampa Bay Lightning organization this morning from the Florida Panthers (in exchange for future considerations), Jacques will be making his return to upstate New York and the Syracuse Crunch, who he played with last season when the club was affiliated with the Anaheim Ducks.
Jacques, a 27-year-old, 6' 3", 231 pound left wing, is a veteran of 166 NHL games (mostly played with the Edmonton Oilers). He played 65 games with the Syracuse Crunch last season. Perhaps he can be seen as both a veteran hand for Syracuse in 2nd half of the AHL season as well as a replacement on the Crunch for Pierre-Cedric Labrie, who is playing with the Lightning?
Whatever the case, Jacques is expected to be in Syracuse in the coming days. And while he may have been a member of the Anaheim Ducks organization last season, he also has (in the past) danced with former Ducks enforcer (and current Panther) George Parros in the past...
