Nick Paul and Tanner Jeannot scored for the Tampa Bay Lightning while Jonas Johansson stole the show with a 25-save shutout over a mostly-NHL lineup by the Florida Panthers. This is back-to-back shutouts for Johansson, who is going to take the reins in net while Andrei Vasilevskiy recovers from surgery.

There were a lot of fights in this game, with 160 penalty minutes getting dished out between the two sides! The game was played in Orlando, clearly reintroducing some old school ECHL hockey.

Here are the two goals from Jeannot and Paul.

Here are some of the fights and dirty stuff.

The Syracuse Crunch announced their opening Training Camp roster of 27 players. They should be seeing some more players joining later next week as the Lightning make final cuts. They might have lost Alex Barre-Boulet to the Bolts, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Ethan Gauthier made his debut at #4 in the Top 25 Under 25.

This is a few days old, but in case you missed it: Dom’s season preview of the Lightning. They would’ve been significantly higher before Vasilevskiy’s injury.

Cap Friendly has a new scouting report tool. I think many are still working on how it can be useful. Beta process is ongoing!

No one believes in goalies!

Derek Stepan announced his retirement. Never a flashy player, Stepan was a solid, well-rounded player who appeared in 890 career games with four different franchises.

Corey Perry may score 40 goals this year if he stays on a line with Taylor Hall and Connor Bedard.
