The NHL announced on Wednesday that the Tampa Bay Lightning will play in eight national TV games in the US. They’ll play Nashville in the very first game of the season, as well as a couple 1pm matinees against New Jersey and Pittsburgh. Tampa Bay had 14 games last season and 13 the year before between just ESPN and TNT.
The Lightning front office was also ranked by the fans to be one of the best in the NHL, scoring the highest confidence in The Athletic’s survey.
The IIHF have new rules for their in-season tournament “the Champions Hockey League”. I love them, for the record. Penalties should be penalties regardless of what happens on the ice. First two rules are excellent, the third rule is a little beyond that scope that I like, but that’s fine. What do you think?
