Lightning Round: It’s Holiday Break Time!

Much like the NHL we’re going to take a couple of days off here at Raw Charge. We’ll be back up and running on Tuesday, but for the rest of the holiday we will be resting a bit and catching up with family. Oh, and there might be copious amount of cookie eating.

Lightning Win! Lightning Win! [Raw Charge]

It was a win unlike any other (at least this season) as the Lightning beat the Capitals in a shootout, 2-1. For the first time this season the Lightning managed to eek out a win when their offense wasn’t clicking.

Crunch drop overtime loss to Rochester [Syracuse Crunch]

Goals from Phil Myers and Felix Robert weren’t enough as Brandon Biro scored in overtime to give the Amerks the OT win.

Leo Carlsson out 4-6 weeks [Anaheim Ducks]

The dynamic rookie will be out of the line-up for a little while as he was diagnosed with a sprained MCL.

Sean Kuraly taken to medical centre after abdominal injury [TSN]

Bit of a scary moment in the Blue Jackets game as Sean Kuraly was hit behind the net and then hit in the stomach with a shot. He made it off the ice before collapsing in the tunnel. While the injury did not appear serious, the team erred on the side of caution and took him to the Grant Medical Center for further evaluation.

Wild and director of operations mutually agree to part ways [Michael Russo Twitter]

They fired their head coach, the assistant GM left, and there was an investigation into the GM, Bill Guerin. Now their director of operations, Andrew Heydt, and the team have agreed to part ways. Per Russo, Heydt was the employee that accused Guerin of the verbal abuse that led to the investigation.
