Lightning prospects Hugo Alnefelt and Gage Goncalves named the two best players of the game
While the Tampa Bay Lightning are having a three-day pause between games, the Syracuse Crunch played their sixth game of the season. The Crunch defeated the Cleveland Monsters 3-2 in shootout, improving to 3-2-1-0 this season.

The Crunch opened scoring in the first period, when Gage Goncalves took advantage of a loose puck after a heavy shot by Alex Green from blueline. It was already the third goal of the season for Goncalves.

The second period went scoreless, but the Monsters managed to score a quick equalizer at the beginning of the third period. Just a minute later, however, Syracuse retook the lead, when Gabriel Fortier scored his first goal of the season off the rush after an assist by Antoine Morand.

A couple of minutes later Cleveland tied the game for the second time, sending the game to overtime. Overtime didn’t reveal the winner and both teams went to shootout, where Goncalves scored the only goal, bringing victory to his team. After a goal and a successful shootout attempt Goncalves was named the second star of the game. Hugo Alnefelt became the first star of the game after making 26 saves and stopping all three skaters in the shootout.

We definitely made things interesting in the third, but the Glads hang on for the win.
