The Tampa Bay Lightning have officially put Andrei Vasilevskiy on LTIR, along with Brent Seabrook and Logan Brown, and have used a portion of that space to fill their roster up to 23 players. The extra defenders who didn’t play in game one were Haydn Fleury and Zach Bogosian, who is back on the roster as of yesterday. Up front, Austin Watson was the extra skater who didn’t play. However, he might have to come in following the injury to Tyler Motte. Alex Barre-Boulet, who passed through waivers and was sent to the Syracuse Crunch, could be on his way back today ahead of the weekend games to be the extra forward.

Speaking of Game One, here’s a trio of recaps from the game and everything around it.

Ahaha, that Swedish-Finnish rivalry never goes away, but congrats to Walterri Merelä on making his NHL debut and picking up the game puck from Victor Hedman.

The PWHL, AHL, ECHL, CHL, and USHL have partnered together to form the Respect Hockey Culture Centre, a centralized platform where employees can receive confidential mental health support services and report incidents of bullying, abuse, harassment, and discrimination. The CHL has reportedly already used the second function of the service, ousting Kevin Constantine as head coach of the Wenatchee Wild.

A couple teams played short due to injuries, including Edmonton with Mattias Ekholm and Los Angeles with Viktor Arvidsson both on the shelf.

Owen Power has followed Rasmus Dahlin in signing an eight-year extension with Buffalo.

The company Pride Tape released a statement after their product was banned by the NHL, saying they’ve been inundated with orders from players, teams, and fans from all over. Pride Tape was co-founded by former Edmonton Oilers defender Andrew Ference, who was the first player in the league to use the tape. Since Ference, the tape has been widely popular among players during pride month and throughout the season. Travis Dermott of the Arizona Coyotes uses it all season.

Lindy Ruff got a “multi-year” extension with the New Jersey Devils.
