The Crunch

-Syracuse Crunch forward Cory Conacher is the star of “Miracle, Baby,” a documentary about his life with Type 1 Diabetes. The documentary will have its digital premiere this Thursday.

-Patrick Williams got together with Crunch head coach Ben Groulx for a great article that puts the Crunch’s current season so far into perspective.

…in all, they play 11 games in 22 nights to close out November.

After seven games in October, the November calendar will provide ample opportunity to develop a rhythm.“We were getting there slowly but surely,” Groulx said. “I thought we struggled early on at putting everything together, and now it’s a little bit of the same thing. We don’t have the consistency that is required to be successful in this league day in and day out. So [it is] something we address with our team, and it’s about making every play and making sure that you do what’s right. I think it goes with your preparation. It goes with your attitude. Some things we’re doing better, but [there is] still a little bit in front of us to [improve].”

-Today is Veterans Day in the United States, and Remembrance Day in Canada. The Crunch wore camo jerseys this past weekend in honor of our veterans, and here’s a short collection of shots from our favorite photographer Scott Thomas. We sincerely thank all who have served.

The Game

-The members of the PWHPA are hopeful their current stand will eventually pay off.

Six months into a self-imposed sabbatical, Hilary Knight is equal parts anxious and resolute. Asked how long the PWHPA can hold out and she’s politely blunt.

”I don’t think there’s a set answer to that,” she said. “Obviously, as players, we want to compete. We want to play in a league right now. However, we don’t have a league right now to play in so my answer would be, ‘Yesterday is too long.’ But at the same time, it’s as long as it takes for us to fulfill our needs of finding a sustainable, viable solution.”

-The Iowa Wild, AHL farm club of the Minnesota Wild, also did some special things during their game in honor of Veterans Day.

-The Bakersfield Condors, AHL farm club of the Edmonton Oilers, wore specialty jerseys this past weekend celebrating the Moon Landing.
