  • Tim Boyle, brother of current Lightning forward Brian Boyle, has transferred to Endicott College, a Division III school. Boyle, originally drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the fourth round of the 2012 NHL Draft, previously played for Union College before abruptly leaving. [SB Nation College Hockey]
  • Aaron Ekblad, the first overall pick by the Florida Panthers in the 2014 Draft, has been signed to an entry-level NHL deal. [Florida Panthers]
  • Hard to believe, but there is a report suggesting that David Krejci just signed an extension for $7.17 million per year. To put that into perspective, Steven Stamkos is earning $7.5 million per year, according to CapGeek. [Stanley Cup of Chowder]
  • Former NHL great Doug Gilmour knows about being committed to the game. Gilmour says that Sam Bennett of the Kingston Frontenacs, of which Gilmour is the general manager, shows that type of commitment to the game, making him a prime candidate to move on to the NHL soon. [Sportsnet]
  • Commissioner Gary Bettman has spoken, and he says rumors of any expansion are simply not true. [The Globe and Mail]
