• Kristers Gudlevskis made an appearance on Puck Daddy’s Top 10 Saves of 2014 for his spectacular 55-save performance against Team Canada in the Winter Olympics in Sochi. [Puck Daddy]
• NHL veteran Dany Heatley, a former 50-goal scorer, has been waived by the Anaheim Ducks. He has suffered a sharp decline in production over the past few years due to nagging injuries. [Pro Hockey Talk]

• With goaltender Brian Elliott medically cleared to return to the St. Louis Blues lineup, Martin Brodeur may have ended his NHL career on a very high note last night. The 42-year-old veteran helped the Blues defeat Patrick Roy’s Colorado Avalanche with a 16-save shutout, the 125th shutout of his career. [Pro Hockey Talk]
