Quick Strikes: Peter Budaj will likely re-sign with the Tampa Bay Lightning
But of course it’s not official until after the expansion draft...
The Bolts
In case you missed it, the Tampa Bay Lightning and goalie Peter Budaj are basically just waiting for Thursday to register their new deal. “His annual salary is particularly interesting. It is the exact salary cap hit that the Lightning can bury in the minor league by re-assigning him to the Syracuse Crunch. While it is unlikely that this will happen, it's a option in the event that the Lightning struggle to stay under the cap.” [Raw Charge]
What’s happening today? Tampa Bay Lightning’s jersey reveal! We don’t know what time it’ll happen yet, but the teaser tweet is over here. [TBL twitter]
Once the Budaj contract is official, Tampa will be at 30 contracts:

In actual off-season news, Tyler Johnson was on the golf course yesterday:

Syracuse forward Henri Ikonen is, as expected, moving on after 3 seasons with the Crunch:

A FanPoster wrote an interview with him that went up yesterday. “It was a fun ride. We had a really good team and were so close to winning it all. Just truly blessed I got to be around those guys and enjoy the ride with them.” [Raw Charge]
It appears that forward Kevin Lynch, who worked his way up from a PTO with Syracuse last season to a full AHL contract, will be re-signing with the Crunch:

Jonathan “Marshmallow” Marchessault is sad and that makes me want to hurt the people who made him upset:

The new NHL salary cap is a $2,000,000 increase over the current cap. Generally, that’s good news for most teams. [Pension Plan Puppets]
