The Crunch

AHL free agency starts the same day as NHL free agency, and there’s going to be a lot of quality free agents out there looking to join new teams. Of interest is the fact that guys who played for Syracuse last year, like defenseman Matt Taormina (#3 on the board) and goalie Mike McKenna (32 on the board), have not yet been re-signed by the Lightning, making fans wonder if they’re no longer in the cards for the organization. Former Crunch assistant coach Trent Cull joined Brent Axe to discuss his move to Syracuse rival Utica as their head coach. He explains that he had the full support of both Julian Brisebois and Crunch head coach Ben Groulx. [ESPN Syracuse]
