This week’s Tampa Bay Lightning poll: seeking allies!

This season, Senior Columnist Clark Brooks will take the pulse of Raw Charge nation with a weekly poll about current or future events and non-happenings, for the sake of accomplishing not much, probably.

It’s kind of cute how much two of Tampa Bay’s major league teams, the Lightning and Rays, obviously love each other (not sure what the deal is with the Bucs, but that’s probably a whole ‘nother story). Both teams have opened up their practices to each other, with the Lightning taking BP at Tropicana Field and Rays players skating at Amalie Arena.

Victor Hedman is frequently spotted off the ice wearing a Rays cap while there’s almost always at least a handful of Rays at Bolts home games. Prior to Monday’s game against the Arizona Coyotes, to commemorate the start of baseball season while paying tribute to their time as the Trop’s primary tenant between 1993-96 (when it was known as The Thunderdome), the Lightning wore Rays themed practice sweaters during warmups. Adorable!

That’s nice and all, but with the Lightning struggling to skate into the postseason with some momentum (even though last year’s Stanley Cup champions, the Pittsburgh Penguins, went 4-6 in their final ten regular season games and our own 2004 champs were 5-6 down the final stretch), the Rays probably aren’t suited to offer any tangible assistance for these current issues. No, the help they need has to come from elsewhere.

So who would you most like to see come to the assistance of our beloved Bolts, to help us over these last couple of humps?

To whom can the Lightning turn for help?

The Florida Panthers - play Boston twice in the last five games28
The Avengers - overcame Ultron5
Obi Wan Kenobi - our only hope12
The Fab Five from Queer Eye - a makeover can solve any problem8
Themselves - ultimately, the answers lie within68
