Normally we post one goal after each other in individual posts to highlight the goal by the individual in question. What happens when that one individual player drops a tally not once but twice in close proximity of each other? And what happens when that player is Tampa Bay Lightning team captain Steven Stamkos?
at 12:35 of the 2nd period, Stamkos netted his 10th goal of the season. It was also his 15th point. The goal was assisted by Ryan Callahan (3).
But was he done? Noooooooooooooooooo. Why would #91 want to finish things so early? At 13:49 of the period — just over a minute later – Stamkos lit the lamp again (this time on the power play) for his 11th goal this season and 16th point. Nikita Kucherov (6) and Vladislav Namestnikov (4) got the assists. That was also Kucherov’s second point of the night after his goal earlier in the period.
Tampa Bay led the Anaheim Ducks 3-0 at this point.
