Today we are happy to announce that Raw Charge has joined For Hockey Fans, the first vertical launched by For Fans Sports Network, a media company created to provide fans with the content they want about their favorite teams and sports. We are so happy to be going on this journey together with some really amazing people we’ve worked with before, and are excited to be bringing you this news today.
We appreciate the support you showed our site when we had to abruptly find a new home, and the patience you have shown even more recently as we took steps to get ready for today before we could publicly say what we were building towards. The season will get underway in just a few short weeks, and we are excited for puck drop. As we go forward we will continue to look for ways to bring you the content you crave, and tell entertaining stories by people who are as passionate about the Tampa Bay Lightning as you are.
It’s been an interesting journey for this little website over the past few months, and we’ve had to do a lot of things on the fly. The beauty of this network is that it has been created by, and is being run by, folks that understand the uniqueness of hockey and its fans. This isn’t a faceless, corporate conglomerate media company looking to trade clicks for cash. We’re basically a bunch of hockey sites that have a common goal – write about hockey for our favorite team.
Not much is going to change here at Raw Charge. We’ll keep rolling right along writing about the Lightning. The beauty of joining the network is that we get to work with some old friends and can share their voices if you’re wondering what is going on outside of Champa Bay (it would be nice if the Bolts, Bucs, or Rays could win another title soon so that we can keep that rolling, right?)
With that said, we would greatly appreciate you visiting the network’s homepage and familiarizing yourself with the sites that will be covering hockey this year. Share this news with your friends, and let them know what we are doing if they aren’t already in the loop.
Here’s to an amazing 2023-24 hockey season and beyond, and thank you again for everything!
Here is the official press release regarding the launch of For Hockey Fans:
DELAWARE — For Fans Sports Network, a media company created to provide fans
with the content they crave about their favorite teams and sports, is thrilled to announce
the launch of its first sport-centric vertical, For Hockey Fans. Rising from the ashes of
the SBNation/Vox de-funding and de-platforming of virtually all hockey sites in January,
For Hockey Fans was born to continue growing access to the sport of hockey and the
communities that are formed around people’s favorite teams.
For Hockey Fans features a website and fan community dedicated to all 32 current
National Hockey League franchises.
“What happened to hockey coverage in January left a void that could not be filled by just
anybody,” Founder of For Fans Sports Network, Stephanie Driver, said. “The sites that
were de-platformed from SB Nation had a decade of history, relationships, and
personality that is impossible to replicate. It was inconceivable to let that die. We are
thrilled to introduce the For Hockey Fans network with the brands that have been
historically trusted to have the fan’s perspective in mind.”
With the ever-evolving media landscape, For Hockey Fans is uniquely positioned to
continue to tell the stories of the NHL and its players. While other outlets see hockey as
a low-growth opportunity and cut budgets and coverage accordingly, For Fans Sports
Network believes that the sport has some of the most passionate fans in the world that
deserve to have their favorite team analyzed, talked about, and covered. For Hockey
Fans will provide a space for all of that, as well as a place where fans from all walks of
life can find a sense of community bonded around a shared passion.
