VIDEO: Jon Cooper reacts to Lightning’s 5-0 loss to Bruins

The Tampa Bay Lightning had probably its most disappointing game so far in 2013-14 in its 5-0 loss to Boston on Saturday night. Coach Jon Cooper was so disappointed in the result that he said, “The only thing good about tonight was the National Anthem. After that, it sucked.”

Cooper did take the time to state that he was impressed with rookie defenseman Radko Gudas thought, who through his weight around all night against Boston. Gudas also dropped the gloves with Boston’s veteran forward Jarome Iginla.

“If you had 20 guys on the ice that competed like that kid did, you probably wouldn’t have the result you did tonight,” Cooper said.

The Bolts are off until October 24th when they face the Chicago Blackhawks at the Forum, which gives the club time to regroup and retool if necessary before they face the 2013 Stanley Cup champions. One change was already made late Saturday night as forward Brett Connolly was optioned back to the Syracuse Crunch.
