Lightning re-sign forward JT Brown

The Lightning have re-signed forward JT Brown to a one-year, two-way contract. Brown, who was qualified at the beginning of this summer, accumulated 10 goals and 18 assists in a season abbreviated by injury. Brown missed a good portion of the year after breaking his collarbone, so he only played in 51 regular season games. During the Crunch’s 18-game Calder Cup run, he netted 18 points.

With Tampa rather packed at forward, expect Brown to have a large roll in Syracuse’s sophomore year with the Lightning organization. He deserves a long look at camp, and will be one of the first in line for call ups. Last season, Brown made his NHL debut with the Lightning on March 31, 2012 against the Winnipeg Jets at the Tampa Bay Times Forum. He recorded his first NHL point (assist) on April 7 at Winnipeg. Previously, Brown also skated in six games for the United States at the 2012 World Championships held in Finland and Sweden.
