Lightning Round: Canadiens (sort of) clear some cap space

The Habs and Red Wings made a trade yesterday. The Red Wings got Jeff Petry for the next two years, while Montreal retained half his salary and got back a fourth liner. The Habs needed to get rid of cap space at this point in the summer and they might still be moving Casey DeSmith who Pittsburgh dropped on their doorstep along with Petry in the Erik Karlsson trade.

Some builder news about the Hurricanes. The NHL has made some promises to help the Canes with their new lease deal in Raleigh.

As a part of the #Canes new lease deal, the NHL has committed to bringing another All-Star Game to Raleigh within three years of the renovation being complete.
