The Edmonton Oilers have hired Connor McDavid’s agent, Jeff Jackson, to be the new CEO of Hockey Operations. I can’t help but think this was McDavid pushing strings to get his manager to be his boss’s boss, either to give him more influence on the competitive side or possibly for their upcoming contract negotiation.

Congrats to Carl Soderberg on his retirement! The 37-year-old played a couple seasons in his home town of Malmo before retiring following a nine year NHL career.
