Next week’s playoff series between the Lightning and Leafs is still the only locked in match-up with only one or two games to go in the regular season for all the teams.
While most series are unknown, we are getting closer to the final picture. Let’s have a look at the bracket. There are plenty of teams who are locked into their position, for example Winnipeg is locked in as the eighth seed in the West. They just don’t know who their opponent is going to be.
BOS vs NYI/FLA/PIT
TOR vs TBL
CAR/NJD vs FLA/NYI
NJD/CAR vs NYR
COL/DAL vs SEA/LAK
DAL/COL vs MIN
VGK/EDM vs WPG
EDM/VGK vs LAK/SEA
There will be a fight among the wild card teams in the East, of which they are only separated by two points, to not play Boston in the first round and instead get the Hurricanes or Devils.
Also, if I was Seattle or LAK, I would rather go to the wild card and play Colorado or Dallas than one of those two better teams.
We should have our answers on pretty much everything on Thursday night when all the teams play. The only game of note for the playoffs on Friday is COL vs NSH.
Here are some highlights from Stamkos’ 1000th game “silver stick” ceremony.
