Lightning Round: Tampa Bay announced their preseason schedule

The Tampa Bay Lightning announced their 2023 preseason schedule, which includes games against traditional opponents the Carolina Hurricanes, Nashville Predators and the Florida Panthers.

The Lightning will open their preseason with two back-to-back games on the road against the Canes and the Predators on September 26 and 27, then the series will move to Amalie Arena with another back-to-back games against those teams on September 29 and 30. The Bolts will finish the preseason with three consecutive games against the Panthers, including a game at Amway Center in Orlando on October 3.

Lightning prospect Niko Huuntanen won the Rookie of the Year award in Liiga, the top professional hockey league in Finland. The 19-year-old forward scored 30 (17+13) points in 48 games.
