Norfolk Admirals, NHL Playoffs Open thread: Taxes?! Who cares? There's hockey on!
The Admirals barely pulled out their 27th win last night in overtime, but they put some 49 shots on Binghamton's goalie Mike McKenna, who was named the game's first star. Tonight they face the Adirondack Phantoms at 5:00pm ET, in their final game of the regular season. The number 8 seed is still up for grabs but by the end of the evening we will know who the Admirals will face and when. Radio is available at 1021thegame.com and online video through AHL Live. And as always, 27's a fluke, but 28's a streak.
In NHL action, we have:
- Pittsburgh Penguins at Philadelphia Flyers - 3:00pm ET on NBC - PREVIEW. The Flyers are up 2-0 in this series. The game is in the first intermission with a score of 4-2 Flyers, and the Penguins are in danger of being swept, which would make the NHL marketing department explode.
- New Jersey Devils at Florida Panthers - 7:30pm ET on NBCSN (not-Versus) - PREVIEW. The Devils lead this series 1-0. Drop in at our cross-state frenemies's game thread at Litter Box Cats.
- Vancouver Canucks at Los Angeles Kings - 10:30pm ET on NBCSN (not-Versus) - PREVIEW. Another surprise. The Kings lead the series 2-0.
Earlier today, the Nashville Predators beat the Detroit Red Wings by the skin of their teeth (and a score of 3-2). They lead the series 2-1.
So join us for some hockey, whether your game of choice is the AHL or the NHL. The thread is open for everyone, come and go as you please.
