It’s not much of a preview, like most of the write-ups for the 2015 preseason, and with good reason: it’s practice. Tonight’s game in Sunrise is a case-in-point game where the Tampa Bay lineup is supposed to be close to the starting combo for the upcoming season. Goalie Ben Bishop will be getting the full game start and he will be backed up by Kristers Gudlevskis.
Cedric Paquette aims to be back for the start of the regular season but he is out of the lineup tonight. RW Nikita Kucherov, on the other hand, is still hurting but has intent to play.
For all intents and purposes, this is a true tune-up game for the start of the season. How well the Lightning do (or how poorly) doesn’t necessarily matter… but after tonight, from here on in they count.
