But the ‘Q’ is crammed with great over-agers, and envisioning Abbandonato as the very best took a little squinting. He was never drafted and, at 5-foot-10, it would have been easy for him to get lost amid the tidal wave of points in that offensive-minded league.

This thread from Twitter’s Dan (who followed Cech extensively through his time with Chelsea) has a really crazy story about Cech growing up and his disability.
All that said, Cech, as a triplet, has comparatively thin bones – its why when Stephen Hunt kicked him in the head in 2005 he almost died, and why he wore a rugby scrum cap for the rest of his career. Love Big Pete, but I really hope he’s not seriously trying to play hockey
