Along with the Tampa Bay Lightning, we’re keeping an eye on their AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch. It’ll be a year of change for the Crunch as they remake their roster on the fly for their new coach, Joel Bouchard. They made their first move as they have re-signed Shawn Element to a one-year AHL contract.

Element is a 5’11”, 195 lbs. forward that appeared in 48 games for the Crunch last year with 9 goals and 9 assists. Element was originally signed by the Crunch to a two-year deal back in May of 2021 after he finished his career in juniors with the Victoriaville Tigers.
Still just 23 years old, Element now has 80 AHL games under his belt in which he’s put up 11 goals and 12 assists. He’s also played 15 games with the Orlando Solar Bears with 4 goals and 5 assists.
