The NHL continued to make conference calls including NHL stars. This time, players from the Atlantic Division joined the chat to share their thoughts on the resumption of the season and their life during hiatus.
Victor Hedman represented the Tampa Bay Lightning on this call. The Swedish defenceman expressed a hope that there will be enough time to finish regular season before starting the playoffs [NHL.com]
“It would be tough to jump straight into the playoffs, there’s no question about it, but I think this is uncharted waters for everyone without knowing when it’s going to restart,” the Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman said in a video call arranged by the NHL on Monday. “The focus is to get a few games in before the playoffs start, but at this point, you don’t really know. It’s going to be tough.”

“These times are unprecedented, and we don’t really know what’s going to happen,” Hedman said. “(Teammates) stay in touch every day, pretty much everyone our team. The younger guys with our team have done a great job of staying home, they understand how dangerous this is, and in going through this, everyone needs to pull in the same direction. Obviously it’s frustrating sometimes, but they know this is way bigger than hockey right now. And we’ve got to do everything we can to help out and make sure this comes to an end sooner than later.”

Couple of new signings from the last day. The Arizona Coyotes signed forward Michael Chaput to a one-year, two-way contract. He spent last year as the captain of the Tucson Roadrunners from the AHL.
