Steven Stamkos will return to action Thursday against the Buffalo Sabres

On today, the day of the 2014 NHL trade deadlien, the Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired a center without needding to spend one asset to acquire him. Oh, sure, it took a lot of time, effort, and a good deal of patience to do it, but superstar Steen Stamkos has been cleared to return to NHL action.

While Stamkos' return is not a panacea for teh ailments of the Lightning at current, it should be one hell of a shot in the arm! Tampa Bay face s divisional rival (and NHL cellar dweller) Buffalo at the Forum tomorrow night. What lineup changes to expect with the re-insertion of Stamkos in teh lineup is yet to be seen (with thanks to the Trade Deadline too) but we'll find out soon enough.
