Video: Pierre-Cedric Labrie talks about his first career NHL goal

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Pierre Cedric Labrie scored his first career NHL goal in his 26th career game, which happened to be against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night in Tampa. Labrie’s goal came at 2:35 of the second period.

Labrie who had been on injured reserve for the past several games, was rewarded for his patience. P.C. had been a healthy scratch on a regular basis for most of the season with the Lightning

As for the goal, Labrie was somewhat surprised that he had scored. It took him 26 games to get his elusive NHL goal.

“First of all, I was like ‘finally, finally I get one it has been more than 20 games,” Labrie said. “I guess I have to shoot more to get more opportunities.”

After the game, Labrie took a picture with teammate Martin St. Louis who notched his 900th career point. They both held up their pucks proudly for the cameras.
